EMPOWERING LEADERS AND MEMBERS
TO STRENGTHEN LOCAL UNITS
Programmatic Thrust 2010-2012
Membership Growth & Development:
* Establish local unit(s) in each county
* Increase and advertise member benefits
* Achieve a minimum of 5% net growth annually
* Retain 90% of membership from previous year, excluding deceased members
* Promote representation in District activities and State and National Conventions
* Establish active and involved committees
* Secure seamless transition of membership from NCAE to NCRSP
Financial Accountability/Stability:
* Prepare budget and designate funds and expenditures to reflect goals
* Seek a 90% membership enrollment on payroll deduction
* Complete the annual reporting form
Legislative Involvement:
* Plan local, district and/or state legislative program and activity
* Establish a formalized “grassroots political action” network
* Encourage members to make a political contribution to PAC
Community Participation:
* Develop a group project to promote NCRSP recognition in the community and in support of children (NCFPSC) and education
* Seek to achieve at least 50% of the membership reporting volunteer hours at the end of the year
* Provide a minimum of 25% of all hours in educational activities
Effective Communications:
* Establish regular, meaningful and effective communications with members
* Establish good relationship with local school superintendent and board of education
* Attend and support local NCAE cluster and local unit meetings and functions
* Encourage locals to publish newsletters using NCRSP logos on communications
Leadership Training & Development:
* Promote and participate in training sessions at the local, district and national levels
* Fund at least three officers to leadership training in the summer
* Recruit and train new and effective leaders at the local and state levels
Programmatic Involvement - Gold Star Awards:
* Develop and promote programs that will bring growth, success, and local recognition to NCRSP and in the Gold Star Awards Program
